This morning, Dakota could hardly get up. Once up, he could hardly stand. Walking was very difficult for him and he acted like it was his remaining front leg that was the problem. Is it hurting?
Oh no. That could explain the odd(er) behavior. I hope you get the answers. Keep us updated after the visit.
Paws crossed!

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Dang Shari,
Ive been off the site for a few busy days. I am sincerely sorry to hear Dakota is suffering a set back. I have "fallen" for him and am "rooting" for him! When I tooK Bud to the vet for his injured remaining leg, my vet called CSU. He told me ....thats where even the experts go for advice ! So, I am very hopeful you will find the advice you need!
I wish they had
squirrel or rabbit parks. He'd go to those.
hahahaha - What a great idea - squirrel or rabbit parks. Maybe even a cat park. I bet all the tripawds would go to those!!
Good luck, Dakota. Sorry to hear you are having more mobility problems. Wishing you luck with CSU.
Did somebody say SQUIRREL?

Aw, sorry to hear of Dakota's difficulties. Poor dude. I don't really have anything to add but that Catie is, always has been, and always will be, a licker. She licks her remaining front leg. She licks carpets, walls, blankets, the snow on the deck (yes, we still have snow; lots of it), the glass on the front window. She licks me. My husband. Friends and family who come visit.
She does not, never has, never will, lick her brother Riley. I don't think she'd lick him even if we slathered him with peanut butter. I know. This is all irrelevant, really. I mostly just wanted to wish you and Dakota good luck with your appointment tomorrow, Shari.

Well, what Evelyn said. I can't believe she formulated an intelligent and cogent sentence. And even signed my name to it. Amazing.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Hi Shari -
I can totally relate to your post - Riley would lick and lick and lick beds, carpets, her feet, the cat you name it - she licked it - and for hours at a time - we couldn't for the life of us figure out what her problem was as she is already allergic to grains and we have her on a grain free diet - and for treats she is getting chicken strips or liver or heart (meat only).
BUT - I was still giving her Iams (fat dog) biscuits - thinking that tiny bit of grains cannot hurt - but apparently just that tiny bit would send her over the edge.....So the purple box of dog treats is gone and so is the licking.....
Keeping my fingers crossed for you that Dakota's licking is allergy related....
