I can't say enough how much everyone's kind words mean at such an awful time. Today is not a good day for Tash...her back legs are very weak and she has fallen trying to walk. She is basically just plopping down in any room she is in. She did however manage to get on my bed...something she is not allowed to do. I just spoke with the oncologist who had the radiologist look over her x-rays. The radiologist said the tumor in her lung is not from osteo but must be coming from somewhere else in her body. Possibly her liver or spleen. My poor little girl! She manages to outsmart osteosarcoma but gets sucker punched by another cancer that is going to cut our time together short. We won one battle but lost the war. I am still taking it day by day, but the last 2 days have not been good.
Tasha was a German ShepherdBorder Collie mix who was diagnosed with OSA at age 8. On December 29, 2011 she had her front right leg amputated and received 4 rounds of chemo. Sadly and suddenly Tasha became sick and we discovered she had liver cancer that had spread to her lung. After almost 19 months, Tasha earned her wings on July 17, 2013. No regrets and never forgotten.
We're still with you every step of the way, day by day, hour by hour. We gotcha' kiddo'. Hang in there.
Plop were she plops and give her belly rubs til' your arm almost falls off.
Love that she was strong enough to "get up" to plop n your bed!! Good job Tasha! You've figured out you can do anything you want right now and get away with it.
Sendig you love,
Sally and Happy Hannah

I'm sorry you have reached this point in your journey with Tasha.
When Maggie was diagnosed with her second cancer I knew our time was short. I tried to define what her minimum quality of life was, in my mind I set some limits so that when we got there I knew it was time. The particular details don't matter, when we crossed the line I had set I knew she was ready to go on to her next adventure. And on top of that I could see it in her eyes, I doubted it would be so clear, but I will before ever thankful that it was. I'm not trying to say it was easy, it wasn't by any means, but it did give me a sense of peace knowing I did what was right for Mag at that time.
When I called our vet on the last day she said "there is a point where the treatment is worse than the disease".
Tasha did beat the odds, every day you have together after diagnosis is a victory. You know Tasha, your love for her will lead you to the right decision at the right time. We are here to help you through this part.
