Each time I read about Holly's remarkable progress I am so impressed and elated that things are progressing. She is getting there little by little and it's all thanks to your determination and her little spitfire personality! You didn't give up and neither did she. This is the ultimate comeback story!

I hope her tummy stays settled and happy. Keep us posted.

Thanks Sally and Jerry, your support means the world.

Tummy is settled and appetite is good! Incision is almost closed yay!

We don't have to go the vets again until Monday so that's good, it gives us time to relax and focus on enjoying each day

How long before Holly should be weaned off gabapentin, vet says it may be in next 2 weeks, is this too soon??

Lots of love Holly and her mum xo

So happy to  hear her incision  is healing nicely!!  HALLELUJAH!!  Such a miracle little doggy!!

And no Vet visits until Monday!!  HALLELUJAH!

Cant really advise on the Gaba reduction  as not a Vet.  However, you can ask the Vet Monday if you can start lowering the dose little bit by little bit and make note if she shows any obvious  pain.  She may be willing  to give it a go.

Tha ks for the update.  You know we're  gonna ask...you know we are!  ,at we PLEASE have so e more photos?  P,lease!  Her cuteness just lights up our world!!

Hugs!

Hi Sophie!  I second Sally's request - more Holly photos please!  Videos would be amazing, too!  That update is such good news and Holly continues to show such strength and determination.  Well done, Holly!  sp_hearticon2  Stacy

Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com

Woot! Woot! Things just keep getting better! How wonderful that you get a break from so many vet visits. Rest up and enjoy!

Gabapentin needs to be slowly weaned off. Talk to your vet to see if it's time, that's something we can't really help with unfortunately. If she shows pain signals after weaning her off, you can always restart it. Hopefully your little rock star won't need it any more.

Hi all

Been a good week enjoying less vet visits and relaxing at home. Still on gaba for a little while yet but antibiotics have stopped today. Incision is almost healed yay!

Holly still isn't walking though, we're keeping up with physio and she's gaining strength in her muscles I can feel it but I'm not sure why she's not quite there yet. Hopefully in time she'll walk?...

She kinda cries to be moved still, so if she needs to go potty she'll cry to be carried etc

Awww I'll post more pics and vids of the lovely Holly, thanks all she is a sweetie

Hope everyone and their furbabies are doing well! Lots of love

Hi Sophie,

It's great to hear that you and Holly have had a good week and she is still progressing! She has been through a lot of ups and downs, so maybe it'll just take a bit longer for her to feel confident enough to get up and walk around on her own. Maybe someone with a bit more experience here than myself can help shed some light on this?

But I see what you've shared as a win and Holly is still fighting the good fight! We'd love to see more photos and vids when you get the chance 🙂

As Shane said, Holly is still fighting the good fight!  Think where she was for all those weeks when she first got out of surgery....these are leaps and bounds improvements!!

Thrilled to hear the jnc is healing!  Does she still have to wear her wrap??

Is she just doing her PT at home, or has  she been doing it with the Rehab Specialist?  What does it consist of?

I have to chuckle a little bit.  It could be...probably  not...but could be that Holly is getting used to you being there to pick her up and, that way, she does have to expend any energy!  Nah, I'm sure she'd rather get up on her own.........but, in her mind, this isn't  all that bad a deal😉

We just love that little gal!❤

Well that is progress my friend! Holly's body healing on the outside means that things are healing on the inside. YAY!smiley_clap

Physio therapy works in the long run, and some dogs need more time. Every story is different and it appears that Holly is writing a full-length novel that will be a best seller I'm sure!  Stick to it, she is getting stronger by the day. And remember when you have concerns, such as when it comes to the yelping, you want to let the physio therapist know. Stay in contact even if you feel like you are bugging them, I promise you are not.

This is a great update, we see so much progress in how she's doing. YAY!

Thank you guys, we appreciate all the kind words and encouragement you're all providing! It keeps me sane when I think things aren't progressing the way they should be!

She is wearing her wrap until Saturday when the vet will decide if she can go without it! PT is mainly at home now, we've been told to just keep practicing and doing the exercises each day. I think she's getting stronger, she has more of a kick with her back legs now.

I'll post more pics, and hope everyone's doing well and their furbabies are!!

Me and Holy send you all love and light xo

PS Sally I do think Holly might be enjoying me papering her and carrying her about, just a teeny tiny bit much haha. I mean who wouldn't want to be carried to food and to bed right?! icon_lol Bless her though I can't say no hehe

Awesome!

One of my Pug Maggie's first toys was a beanie baby Pug.  It was back in the days when people were waiting in line to get those things... people were aghast that I gave one to my dog smiley4.  Mag was very gentle with her toys, never tore them up.

Sally reminded me of something- when Maggie was recovering she spent quite a bit of time at my parents house (before the amp too actually).  That house had stairs and Maggie could no longer go up more than a couple stairs.  My Mom started carrying her up and down the stairs which was OK, but then she started carrying her outside to potty and back inside.  Mag got used to the service and then refused to go in or out on her own.  It took several stand-offs at my house, with her outside waiting for me to come get her before she finally got the idea and then she went in and out on her own.

Now Maggie had a much easier recovery than Holly- your girl has had a lot to deal with during recovery.  Hopefully Holly will keep getting stronger and healthier.

Holly needs some more toys!! 🤣😂   I must say, I had to look very hard to find the "toy" that is not "stuffed"!  The only reason I found d her was because her eye stood out reflecting  the camera flash.  This picture is so darn cute!

Okay, we have another improvement to celebrate!  YAY FOR HOLLY!!  She jas more of a kick with her back leg is definitely  progress!!

Yeah, no way you can NOT spoil that adorable bundle of fluff❤  Holly could not have a better care giver and friend to be by her side on this journey.  Her determination combined with  your determination, her love for you, your love for her......truly UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Thanks for the update and this priceless picture💕   Ahe melts my heart everytime😊

Hugs, love and light right back to you both
