Hey everyone!
Haha Karen it sounds like Maggie and Holly have that in common then, I think they get used to being carried about so quickly! I love that Maggie had a beanie pug, how cute! Holly is very gentle with her toys too, we still have toys that are as old as Hol herself.
Sally it's very difficult to find Holly in that picture. She looks just like a beanie haha. The avatar was in a park before coronavirus and before Hols amp. We had such a fun day.
So update time!
Holly's almost walking, she can support herself while sitting right up now. She's getting stronger. The vets have signed her off for 14 days while we slowly wean off the gabapentin, as the dose reduces I can see her being more alert and eager to get up. We have some bruising which is worse than right after the op, but she doesn't show any pain signs.
My new avatar is a very alert Holly in her bed this week
Love and light to everyone and their tripawds.
We're getting there slowly and surely Xo
Holly is just doing sooooo well! Her progress has been in baby steps but those steps keep getting bigger and bigger with each update. That photo of her says it all, she's ready to take on the world again! What a great check up with Team Holly.

Holly definitely traveled her own recovery path, but her fighting spirit shines through! I'm so happy to hear that she is regaining her sparkle and her strength. I'll bet she'll be acting like herself again once she is off all the meds. Way to go Holly and Sophie - what an incredible team! Stacy
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Her little avatar picture is just precious😊
Her fighting spirit, your fighting spirit...true examples of never giving up and stay the course! She has overcome soooo much! And to have the incision and finally heal up....another miracle indeed!!

Yay for both you and Holly!! I am so happy for you LOVE her new avatar photo, she is just smoochably adorable. You have had such a long road, it is wonderful to see that your persistance and love took over and gave you the grace and patience to see this thing through.

Thank you so much from Holly and me! It's been a long journey and we're definitely still on it but she amazes me every day with her strength.
I've emailled over some pics of her bruise (or sore from leaning on it too much?) to our vet. So hopefully we can just double check all is well with the bruise, fingers crossed.
She does lean on her incision side an awful lot so not sure if she's putting a bit too much pressure on it or has perhaps bashed it when I've not been watching!
Lots of love to everyone at tripawds. You've all been amazing and have gotten us through some really dark times, we're very grateful!
Xo
I am so happy to read Holly's story and recovery. My dog just came home from getting her stitches out with an open wound in the section where she chewed ( my fault completely, I trusted her in a t-shirt and she chewed right through it) so I feel a bit of guilt and having it be open makes me nervous. But hearing about Holly's progress and recovery is so heartening!
