I asked my vet for gabapentin for recovery pain. My cat is on day 5 and has been on buprenorphine, but I wanted to try the gabapentin to see if it would be better. After giving him his first dose, I read the article on here about not to give it in liquid form. But the vet prescribed it in liquid form. Now I’m worried. I didn’t know it wasn’t proven to work either. I just don’t want him to be in pain. Maybe I should’ve just stuck with the other stuff. The vet prescribed 1ml every 8-12 hours.
I haven’t slept all night also because my cat hasn’t peed in 24 hours as I mentioned in a previous post. I can’t afford an ER visit after paying over $3,000 for the surgery. I don’t know what to do. And today is Sunday so nothing is open.
I did reply to your other post. Trist your Vet on the Gaba he gave you. And stay off google...there is no Dr. Google😉
Have to head to work but will check back
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Yes yes as long as it came from the vet the liquid form of Gaba is safe. Keep it on schedule and stay ahead of the pain for best results.
Let us know how today goes!
