I've just had a chance to catch up on Sierra's pawgress, and your big move. YAY! I'm really happy to hear things are looking up, she went to rehab and you've got a new home just for her. What a great pawrent you are! And your ex too, we give props for helping her through this ruff time.
Thanks for sharing the Amazon link, Jackie! Yep, every purchase made through there, whether it's pet-related or not, goes to helping the Tripawds community! We appreciate that.
As for runners, we run to Walmart or Costco whenever we need them. They're pretty basic but at about $10-$15 each they're right in our budget.

I'm thrilled to hear that Sierra is making progress!
She has had such a rough go- she deserves to feel good.

Hey All! Checking in during a moving break. Sheesh it’s hot this weekend!
Sierra is finally getting quite mobile! She’s getting up on her own (after a bit of effort) and learning the three leg hop quite well. Her spirits seem good. I think she’s happy she can get up when she wants to.
So question. I’m planned on building/ buying a ramp for my bed. But what to do with couches? She loves to sit on the couch. She’s 50 lbs so decent sized. So the cute little steps would be too small for her. And a ramp would probably be huge. What do medium/large size dog owners do? I saw her eyeing the couch a couple times yesterday so I know it’s only a matter of time before she’s up on one. The hop off wouldn’t be too far seeing as how she’s a decent size. Just trying to figure out options and what’s best.
Thanks & hugs to all.

Karen (krun15) has a really cool box that works perfectly for her pup. Something that will not tip with weight. I am thinking maybe milk crate sized with a nice skid free top like rug? Maybe a short hassock type thing! I am picturing those square ones that the top comes off of for storage. I think Walmart or Big Lots carry them?

I don't use boxes, I think you are thinking of the boxes Clare uses for Meg. Read the second post in this thread for details.
I built little stair units for my pups to get up on the bed, and I use stools for access to the furniture on which they are allowed. Mine are both small, Obie the quad-Pug and Elly the Tri-PugMutt. For Elly the challenging direction is up, jumping off one back leg. But since they are both small I really don't want them jumping down. They do pretty well although when Elly gets excited she will fling herself off furniture without using the steps.

Ohhh- my portable road box/stairs, that is a custom built model, not available in stores
I'm working on a video to explain how I built it and show it off properly! As Jerry says "stay tuned..."

Yes! I'm going to stay tuned I think those are fantastic. I also love how they are portable. I have a place in mind that my little buddy frequents often and this would be perfect.

For the couch we use the bottom ramp part of this, its just the right height. We started to try to teach our dog to use it before his surgery so hopefully he will learn to use it after. I have a feeling he will just try to jump off though!

its expensive but we were lucky and found one at a yard sale!
a few other ideas:
Milliard Soft Foam Toddler Stairs and Ramp Climber Gym Toy
depending on the height of the couch just a wedge might work. The wedge shape seems to feel less wobbly then just a type of ramp of stairs that do not have a full base, especially for the heavier dogs
