9 days since the road accident and frankie is awaking in his sleep and yelping so i called the specialist today asking if we can put him on Gabepentin and he agreed, so hes on 300ml a day. hopefully this will help, vet wasnt sure of the dose so any advice would be helpfull he 34kg black lab. My other lab is on gabs as she has lunbar sachral diease so i have 100 and 300 tabs ....

I don't know about the exact dosage for gaba but if it doesn't appear to be working you should call your vet to see how you can come up with a more effective dosed. It's a drug that's only recently begun being used for dogs and phantom pain , so I can see why s/he was unsure about the exact amount. I hope it works for Frankie! Keep us posted.

Let us know how it goes. Please remember to ask your vet about how to withdraw him from gaba when he no longer needs it. I understand that it's not the kind of drug you should stop giving all of a sudden. I hope this works for him, it's so hard to know they're in pain.
