Hi Brittany! That is indeed a saga and an incredible story of Frank's strength! Amputation is certainly a major surgery, but given all that Frank has been through and that he wasn't really using his bum leg before the surgery, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that his recovery is all smooth sailing from here! I'm posting the photo of Frank that you sent to me so everyone can see how adorable he is! Sending healing vibes and lots of hugs from NYC! ~ Stacy & Griffin
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Awwww Frank you poor guy! And you too Brittany & hubby. I'm shaking my head, just going "Wow." What an ordeal! I'm so sorry you guys went through so much. Rest assured the UW folks will make sure that Frank's recovery is as smooth as possible (Go Badgers!). Many members have had great success with the UW clinic.
We are keeping our paws crossed that everything goes as planned. You guys sure deserve it. And if you can survive an ordeal like that, well, you've got a long happy marriage ahead of you!
Thanks for sharing the photo Stacey, he is just adorable!!

Could not believe everything you and Frank have been through!! As weird as it sounds, YAY for amputation!! I'm really glad you have a Vet team that finally pointed you to amputation as THE solution!!
Thank you for shar your story of how you got it. I know it had to be exhausting emotionally. It will give a heads up to help others in the future who "start off with an infection".
Stacy, tha ks for posting Frank's picture. He just looks so sweet and gentle, but clearly he's a fighter with a Warrior Spirit!
We're cheering for you Frank!
Hugs
