Some good news......Atlas CBC came back normal. Yeah! Every thing was in normal range except hemoglobin, but the vet said he's just a little dehydrated. Looks like a few more temptations with ice cream are in order. We took him to our local vet which is only 10 minutes and all his peeps were there to see him and were so amazed at how well Atlas is doing. He did his normal routine and went in to get on the scale for me, but it was so close to the wall he found it difficult to maneuver this time so he sat half off the scale. Doc went straight to physically put him on there and Atlas immediately manned his battle stations. This time I spoke up and said, wait, stop. I lead Atlas in a half circle, asked the hovering vet tech to his right (preferred direction now) to give us space and Doc pushed the scale out from the wall and we did the have circle and he walked right onto the scale at sat down. I'm learning..... atlas is a little clostraphobic post amp and he likes to turn to the right (obvious reasons). Also learned that people naturally want to move in on him to "help" him which he deems unsettling and unnecessary. He has never been man-handled in his life so he reacts very poorly to anyone physically trying to "help" him. As long as mom can clear my path, he says he can do it!
WOOT WOOT!!!! GO ATLAS!!!
Very smart to take him to his regular vet for the bloodwork, that's what I always did with Jill (especially because she was always failin' those damn CBC's due to lack of studying, so we had to make multiple trips )
WAY TO GO ATLAS LOTS OF ICE CREAM DESERVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Yay Atlas! Way to go buddy. It's great to hear he's doing so well.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Congratulations, you just got your diploma from the Dog Pawrent school of medical advocacy!

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
That's right, buddy. Own your path! Make them move! You can do it! Keep it up, pal!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
