Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since our last check in but rest assured out of sight has not meant out of mind! All of the support during the pre-post op phase has been invaluable. I just wanted to give a quick update on my girl! Etta's 2 month Ampuversary is on the 15th…. Her fur is growing back so she doesn't look so much like a patchwork quilt ; ) She is getting stronger everyday.
She is almost half way through her chemo… and by and large has tolerated it well. She seems to have a rough patch about 7 to 10 days after each treatment. low energy and nausea. She is loaded up with anti-nausea meds and probiotics. Today is a low energy day and we both are sitting home and hanging out waiting for the evil C to pass through her system ….
On all the other days she is GREAT! We go for walks (short ones) & wagon rides. She runs to our neighbors at least 2 x a day for treats just like she used to…. She gets stopped in the park a lot and people take her picture and some have actually asked if she has a facebook page. I generally tell them that she was right pawed and is having trouble typing with her left! ; ) All and All we feel very blessed… Here are a few recent pics:

Our angel "Etta" amputation on 4-15-10 lost her front limb. initially dx'd with neurofibrosarcoma. However, after surgery they discovered histiocytic sarcoma a very aggressive cancer. After two full rounds of chemo our special angel lost her battle on 6-21-10. the sweetest and most gentle soul. Our lives are forever blessed for having known her...
Great pictures!
And it's so great to hear that she's doing so great. We'll be starting chemo as soon as the staples come out, so I'm glad to hear your girl is tolerating it well. She's a beautiful dog. 🙂
Now you've got me thinking about a facebook page for Kenzie. Too funny about being right pawed.
Best of luck with the rest of the chemo!
LOVE IT!
I'm so glad Etta is doing well! I'll have to tell Mackenzie's mom since I'm seeing her in person later this afternoon - she was asking about you!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Love, love the pics - the purse is my favorite. Trouble has the same look on her face when I put on her harness.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
(Happy dance, happy dance) Yay Etta!! Attagirl!
She is such a beautiful girl, oh, what a face! Lovely pics.
Seven to ten days post-chemo is about when Catie would experience the greatest lethargy and gastro issues as well. But those low energy days are great for lazing around and snuggles.
Very pleased to hear her progress is so positive. Keep it up, Etta!

Good for Etta! She's looks happy laying next to her kitty friend! I have a kitty friend that is the SAME color...only I really don't want him as a kitty friend but he loves me!
Good to read a nice report on Etta! Keep up the good work girl!

That's great news about Etta! Love the pictures too!!! Especially the one with the kittie... I used to joke about Jake that he was my suitcase whenever I'd hold on to the handle of his harness...
Hope Etta continues to do well! Keep posting pictures! She's adorable!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
Oh what a sweet girl! I'm so happy to hear that Etta is doing so well! She looks great, healthy and strong! Love the pictures. Comet's Mom told me you posted and I was very happy to hear this. We'll have to plan an LA Tripawd pawty soon now that Etta's doing so well. Look forward to more updates.
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Julie and Etta,
I am so very glad to hear that you are doing this well. I totally lost all my appetite during my chemotheapy. Dad says that the improvement really took off once the chemotherapy was over, I have to admit that I really enjoyed our trip to Yellowstone after the chemotherapy, which is where we are now. Dad sometimes get time to logon the internet and says that this was an excellent way to end the day. We look forward to many more ampuverseries.
