Well we got a call at 7:30 am that Emma was ready to come home. We picked her
up at 12 pm and happily brought her home. Once she took a long nap she went
outside to her backyard and did her business - but I was most excited she had
a bowel movement because it had been before her surgery since she had done
that. Then she came back inside and ate for me without me having to hand feed
her. Plus just in the 6 hours we have been she has already improved with her
walking. She is still using the sling when we go outside but when we are
outside her body makes a "C" shape and walks around by herself. She gets her
staples out next Monday but looking forward to continued improvements every
day........fingers crossed we will be ditching the sling soon...........Just
wanted to give everyone an update.
Glad to hear that Emma is home. That's always such a relief. Although she's doing really well right now, don't be too worried if she seems to have a setback. A lot of times, they are so excited to be home that they over-do it a bit and kind of "crash" after that. We're hoping that everything goes smoothly, though...

Hooray! Glad she is home. And whoo-hoo for first poop! (We celebrate that sorta thing around here...)
Hope she continues to improve and is quickly back to her old self,

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
way to go emma - having that first 'gruntie' is so celebratory!!! paws crossed for continued success, scrapping the sling, and many more medicinal naps!!
charon & spirit gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
HOORAY EMMA! We are so happy for you!! Keep up the good work pretty girl!!
Did "someone" write "gruntie"??? Bwhahahhaahhahhahahhahahahahhahhahaha! Where did the decorum go around here???!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Hey, a potty pawty! Yay! Good girl, Emma!
I think day 4 was our hardest of the first week, so don't be discouraged if Emma tanks a bit. Surgery meds get metabolized, heavy-duty pain stuff messes them up...it can be a doozy. If you ever feel that things just aren't right, call the vet. That's what you paid for. Here's hoping you have very smooth sailing.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Yipeeeeee~! The Pawty Dance is the BEST!
We're so glad you made it through surgery and are having a good recovery so far. Paws crossed for you to get well fast. If you need anything at all, we're here for you. Keep us posted.
