Emily had her first chemo yesterday. So far, so good. She hasn't had any side effects as of yet. I am glad to get things started. She has recovered so nicely from her surgery. Sometimes it is still sad for me when I look at her but I know that is my problem not hers. It has been about a month since her first diagnosis. Without amputation and chemo we would only have a few months left with her, and they would have been painful months for her physically. Painful for all of us emotionally. I am so happy to have found this web site and been encouraged by all of you.
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.
Thanks for the kind comments. You can make it up to us by kicking that sadness in the butt! 😉

Trouble had minimal side effects from the chemo, and they began about 7-8 hours after the IV. Hopefully, Emily will be lucky enough to have no side effects all the way through.
