With all of Duchess' progress, we have to have a slip in the past week.

She is not active in walking and doesn't seem to be interested in doing so. She is not holding anything down, but meat and only meat. Her usual wet/dry food always comes right back up. She stopped eating her treats and naturally smoked pig ears (I get them locally so no chemicals). I have been giving her peanut butter with her pills - which she usually inhales even though she knows the pills are included - but now she leaves them be for an hour or so then she may or may not eat them. Her acid belly is back to - so I am reluctant to force her to swallow the pills on an empty stomach or take the chance of one of her meals to come back up. I have noticed her nose running a lot more too. this past weekend she moaned every time she moved - which was only from her bed to the couch. Yesterday evening she slowing got off the couch and then just peed right on the rug. Didn't even ask to go out or look like she needed to. I have been picking her up to bring her outside and get on the bed. She seems to be struggling to do anything these days. Then at 630 this morning she stood up on the bed (my bed) and threw up all over the place and enough to get through the mattress pad.

I have an acupuncture appointment tonight for her to see if that will help with any stiffness/pain she may be having, but I am seriously looking at this issue. She doesn't seem to be happy at all anymore. I know you all mentioned the 'depression' that sets in - could this be it? Or is it time to do some scans..?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Is she doing any chemo? Is she on anything to help her tummy with any of her meds/supplements? I hope she starts feeling better soon :(

Ohhh poor Dutchess. She definitely sounds like something isn't right, I'd say a visit to the vet is definitely in order. What supplements is she getting? If I were in this situation I would stop them until I knew the issue but do ask your vet what to do next and keep us posted. We are thinking of you.

I have decided not to do chemo because she is so sensitive. She is also not on any supplements. She is only taking Remidyl, antacids, and Proin (for incontinence).

Aww poor girl. It sounds like she is super sensitive. I do think a trip to the vet to see what's going on is probably a good idea. Maybe it's just something minor going on with her tummy and they can give her something to help with that. Either way it can give you a good idea what's going on and can hopefully help her get some relief from whatever is going on. Hang in there :(

Awwwww, sorry t hear about Duchess's "challenges". Gotta' be yucky having such an upset tummy.

Yeah, I agree with the others, a trip to the vet is in order. It could be that some sort of infection as set in and is causing her to feel so lethargic. I would thinkf...just a guess. that this "feeling down" is related to something physical going on. She may have pulled a muscle, pinched a nerve, any number of things and then develop her "sensitive tummy" on top of that......yeah, not feeling to chipper. Sometimes the Rimadyl can cause upset tummies too...even after having noproblems at first.

I wn't say "try not to worry", okay? I will say just stay present with her giving her all that wonderful love of yours and go on and get her checked out by a vet. We need our sweet Duchess feeling better!! Got all paws crossed in tripawd land.....and that's a lot of pawsitive energy!

While you're waiting for your appointment, how 'bout posting some more pics of your sweet baby. Would love to see more of the beautiful Duchess!clap

Will look forward to your update when you can. B R E A T H E and go give Duchess...and YOU...a big hug!

Love and hugs!

I tried to do the picture thing, but didn't work. I remember you saying it was easier if i had an online pic place, but I don't. I posted more on Tripawds Facebook Page .

I agree something is going on. She does have 'tight' neck bones and have also noticed she is curling her feet again (walking on top of her feet and slow to correct them). And of course this is during which I am going home for the holidays and can't bring her with me.  A vet assistant is staying in my home to watch her (using my house as 'home base') so she will be watched, but ...just bad timing. We will see what vet says tonight and what happens while I am away.

Thanks for the support! I am truly freaking out thinking it is time to make the decision soon.

Oh yeah, we all u derstand the freaking out bit all to well!

Try not to jump too far ahead, okay? No decisinhas to be made avout anything at the moment, okay? It's certainly jard not to always think the worse on this journey, but it realy could be something "fixable" and, relatively speaking, simple.

That's wonderful that she'll be able to stay at home with a vet tech staying with her! A very, very, well cared for pup!

We're here for you and Duchess! And she knows y sre there for her! What a team!

Hugs!
