I am so glad that Hank is getting around just fine. Sounds like he is adjusting to life on three legs well. Isn't it amazing how they just pick up and get on with their lives? Hank is very lucky to have such a loving and caring mommy. Good luck with the grants. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Hank is unstoppable! This is a terrific update, I'm so glad things are normal again. Sounds like he's getting a fair amount of good activity but not too much.
Good luck with the oncology funding research, our paws and fingers are crossed that everything happens the way you want it to! Keep us posted.

Yey, Hank! Up and down the stairs like a champ! And pooping like a champ! All the things that make pet-parents happy as can be. You are doing so well!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
Update January 27th
It's been a while since I've posted an update. Hank is doing awesome. I couldn't be more pleased. His neuromas are getting further apart and less in intensity. Seems like he's getting them when he's more active. A new thing today is playing with Taco my shepherd collie cross. They like to play "catch me if you can" where Taco does all the running. Hank did a few attempts to go after him. Hank also made a few play bows to Taco and they played for a little while. I almost cried seeing him enjoying his time out. For me it means he's comfortable which is what I want.
As for the chemo goes. I'm in the process of getting estimates to submit to get my grant and finding a good holistic vet. I think things are going to go smoothly and the right way for Hank and I.
I have to tell about the scare I went through a few days ago. Clifford my anatolian shepherd cross started limping. Like Hank I couldn't find where the pain came from. My mind jumped to cancer right away. It was really hard emotionally to keep my head cold and wait to see if it resumes. It took a few days but it's now gone. Phew! I don't know if I could have been able to deal with 2 cancer dogs at the same time.
I hope everyone is well on the forum.
Sending well wishes to every dogs and their guardians.

I am so glad Hank is doing so well. We miss you in the chat. It is good to see Hank is playing etc with the other dogs. I know that you will get that grant that you need for the chemo.
Glad Clifford is feeling better.
