Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. December 14th Update
Hanks had neuromas for a couple of days. That seemed quite painful. I worked with the vet that did the amputation and she faxed a new prescription for him. She doubled the gabapentin dose (200mg x2 day) and added amantadine (200mg x1 day). No more neuromas since 3 days. Hank as now perked up and he seems more happy. He finally made a number 2 and now pees on a regular basis. I have discovered that he likes to go for a walk (mini walk that is) in order to pee. He's now eating more normal which means I have to mix kibbles with cottage cheese, bone broth (home made boiled bones in water) and some pieces of chicken.
I'm quite happy to see him enjoying things and being able to rest a lot on the couch. Which by the way I had to cover the cushions with a plastic because he's slobbery. Go Big Buddy!

December 15 update
After talking to the vet. Hank did his first km of walk today. Good thing I stopped him or he would have done the full 6 km we use to do and had carry him on the way back. He tried and mark his path along the way by lifting a back leg. That wasn't the best idea so he resumed his marking in a tripod fashion. He even wanted to run and I found out that he gets a better rhythm at my jogging pace than at a fast walking pace which was his trot when he had four legs. He was silly as he used to be in our walks before. I could almost see a smile. Now he's tired and resting on the couch.
Another great thing is that he peed and pooped along the walk which is great!
The not so great thing is that while I had his t-shirt drying I caught him trying to pull his sutures. Naughty boy. Another shield went on.
