Toby, you are not allowed to go near your stitches lovey! That really is the worst thing that you can do for yourself right now! I just checked out Wyatt Dawgs double shame of cone and I think it’s pretty cool! How many other dogs have to double up... not many! So consider yourself pretty cool if you have to go this route Toby!
im so glad to hear that you pooped, that is a celebration any day around here!!
Stewie also had fluid that needed to be drained and my vet Actually took him in for a day to observe how he was doing at one point, we played around with a couple of his medications and he was much better after that.
Wishing you all the best and I do hope you get the ‘no nibbling’ situation under control. If I think of any solutions, i’ll let you know...

It's now a week and 2 days since Toby's amp. Much of my time has been spent in keeping an eye on him so he doesn't try to lick the wound. We found (after a crisis on Tuesday night, where his wound was swollen and leaking) that he needs 2 buster collars--one his own, and one from his even larger canine cousin! On the crisis night, Katherine came out with her calm and patient husband, to inspect the wound that I was worried about. At this point he had only been wearing one buster collar. Katherine had spoken by phone to our vet, and the decision was made to go to the surgery for the vet to inspect Toby. The wound was fine, just leaking serum, a stitch was removed to aid any discomfort, and we returned home to try and find a solution to the licking problem. The large clear "cone of shame " was quickly removed by Toby, the softer black comfy cone was dismissed by him as he hated not being able to see around him. Finally after Katherine and her husband returned home at 10 p.m., my husband blew up the large buster collar to try two collars and that did the trick!Toby is also eating well, doing his ablutions fairly regularly, and sleeping well, so fingers crossed for the future
Good morning! That is wonderful news so glad to hear you have come up with a solution that is working
Hope you have a wonderful day, keep behaving Toby! 😎

Grandma,
Thanks for the wonderful update on Toby! We Ruv hearing such good successes, especially with solutions to the dreaded Cone of Shame!
Toby you needn’t be shamed by your cone anymore, you get to wear not one, but two Cones of Coolness! Just like our star Wyatt Dawg! Well done Grandad on working that out and staying persistent, you have probably saved yourselves and Toby a ton of extra grief!
You are doing so very well Toby and Furmily, give yourselves a pat on the back for moving through this very difficult journey with such a pawsitive attitude, I truly believe it helps in all healing!
Ruv and encouragement coming your way
