quick Chubby's review, 20111213 amputation, 20120731 lung mets, 20120924 can't walk figured shoulder pain, 20120924 started used Etoposide but 20121001 got side effect bloody diarrhea.
Etoposide severe side effect: stop using it and metronidazole helps a lot she got healthy poo after maybe 2 weeks later
About the hard walking pain issue: last week X-ray result showed her rib which is stick closed lung mets tumor has been eaten by her tumor, so she is pain and dun want to walk, Previcox helps a lot, and we will start to use zoledronic acid (Zometa) soon, to help her rib not to be eaten by the bad tumor.
Chubby is now suffering malignant pleural effusion, she breaths deep and dun want to stand up or walk, she was doing well this morning but tonight she started deep breath and felt not well now........ Tomorrow we will take her to Dr.Wu, we would like to treat her Zometa, but now she suddenly got weak, we hope she will get comfortable soon.........
if you have some pleura effusion and used Zometa experience, please share with us, thank you!
Patty
Hello Patty,
Thanks for the update. I wonder what those numbers are at the beginning of your post? Hmm.
My heart goes out to you, I'm sorry the metastasis has happened. So, Tripawd Chance is using Zometa (see this post) but I don't think she has the same health conditions that chubby does. I just talked to Chance's people recently and was told the Zometa is working great for her. I hope it works for Chubby too.

I am also sorry to hear about the metastasis. I hope that Chubby gets some relief from the Zometa. Please keep us updated.
Jerry, I think the numbers are an alternative date format (ie, 2011/12/13 amputation - December 12, 2011).
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

I'm sorry to hear about the mets. I also hope that the zometa can help Chubby.
We are thinking of you.

Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle.
