Ta da!  Never thought I'd see the day..........after two postponements due to low neutrophils and white blood cells, Jill has completed her four course chemo treatment!!  I haven't picked her up yet, but the word from the vet was "everything went perfectly."  Much better than the last doxorubicin dose!  Yipee!

So, Part 1 and 2 of Jill's Journey is complete! clapclapclapclapclap

Onto part 3........here's the plan.  In four weeks, we will go to Jill's regular vet for a physical, CBC, Chemistry and maybe an x-ray (the onco left this up to me, bc she knows I'm a paranoid freak).  If all looks good, we will start her on metronomic cytoxan.  She didn't tell me the dose, all she said was "we will have to order it from a compounding pharmacy because Jill is a "little lady."

In two months (one month off the cytoxan), she will go back to the oncologist for a chest x-ray (which is why she really doesn't need it in one month, but of course, my paranoia.......), a cbc, chemistry and exam.  If all is good, we'll continue with the cytoxan.

So.  That's the plan!  I'm so proud of my lil baby girl.  She has really handled this thing like a little pro.  She's even gained 8 ounces since her surgery (that may sound like a tiny bit to you dog folk, but in a 10 pound cat it's a good amount and I was told to watch it and not give her so many treats).  If you would have told me I would have made it this far with my sanity still in tact, I would have laughed, but it really was this community that I owe about 90% of making it through this too (my friends and family the other 10% winker).

So....I can now breathe a sigh of relief...........for now............. winkerwinkerwinker

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Whoop whoop!!!  We're SO happy for you!  Feels darn good, huh?!  YEY!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

I'm so, so happy to read this.  What an inspiration you both are!  Congrats!

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

What great news !!!!  Jill, I am so proud of you.  I know Mommy worries about you, so I'm sure this is making her very happy today.  You keep up the good work and keep kicking cancer's butt.

Soooo HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! And eight ounces too! WOW! Guess in dog terms that's like eight hundred lbs!!

I know the relief is immense and you can finally relax and breathe and eat without having butterflies in your tummy!! This was one of the first posts I read when I got home tonight and I had been checking when I could keeping my fingers crossed for you both!!

Heck yeah skip the chest X-ray!!Jill don't need no stinking stay......she's feeling great and all is good with the world!

Keep posting those adorable photos!! Even when she's out just laying around looking like she's "chilling". she's still looking like the world's most laid back cat even with the "action" shot of her looking out the window!

So happy for you both and we're doing the cool cat happy dance for Jill!! Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Yahoo!! What a super kitty you are. Now your Mom can breath a little bit (sorry Jill-she will always be paranoid!).

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

Woooooohoooooo yeeeeeeehaaaawwwww and YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!

I just knew you could both hang in there and get 'er done! This is wonderful news!!! A big three paws up and congrats to both of you.

The plan sounds great. So you're going to go ahead and do metronomics ? Awesome! Is anyone going to document Jill's progress for future osteo-cat studies?

You know, I thought I replied to this but apparently not! Better late than never...maybe.

Jill is inspiring so many to be dignified and graceful under pressure and to hold up their heads and live life on their own terms.  I guess Jill is being more dog! winker

I'm just glad she got done with this bit so she can quit being messed with, poked and prodded. It's time for her to get back to the important stuff, like her professional napping career. Yay, Jill--we're all so proud of you!
