Ada had her 6th and final round of chemo today! Hip, hip, hooray!!!! Her chest x-ray shows no evidence of metastasis and her blood work is all normal!!! She tolerated chemo well. She is really tired tonight, as she has always been on the day of chemo, so we are very happy that she will not have to feel bad any longer.
Her big brother Bailey passed away in July just after his 13th birthday. Ada was so sad to lose her friend. She would just lay around. Our goal is to make Ada as happy as possible. She was happy having a fur friend. We fell in love with a rescue pup from the same organization that we rescued Ada. Carley had a rough start to her life, abandoned, mange, broken leg. Ada needed a friend and Carley needed another dog to show her that life could be good - a perfect match. Our Ada is happy again and Carley is gaining confidence and has made tremendous progress!
Life is good for our famiiy!!!!

Murphy, became a tripawd on August 17, 2015. Went to the rainbow bridge on July 5, 2016.
Deb, I am so sorry for the loss of your Bailey this summer...yes, dogs do grieve deeply when a pal dies and adopting a new pal, Carley, for Ada was the perfect thing to do. Bless you for giving a loving home to a rescue in need. And...SO happy for Ada that chemo is over!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Hip!Hip!HOOORRAAAAY indeed!
It just feels so good to move past those well-defined phases of the Tripawd journey, like chemo. I'm so glad Ada sailed through and now the pack can be happy and enjoying a great life with nothing but play and fun. YAY!
P.S. Sorry to hear about Bailey, you guys have had a rough year. We're sending lots of wishes for a long, healthy and happy life from here on out for the whole pack.
