My cat, Discovery was diagnosed with Subcutaneous Hemangioscarcoma at the end of September. We had her leg amputated on 10/3. After reading the U Penn study on the I'm Yunity mushroom extract in treatment of HSA in dogs I ordered a bottle for her, along with a bottle of CBD Oil for Cats (from Penelope's Bloom). Just seeing if anyone here has used either of these with their cats, and how they did.

I don't have experience with that brand of cannabis but I do have some knowledge about what to look for in a product (see our Cannabis Corner articles). What I do like about this product is that they make it very easy to find the Certificate of Analysis, a crucial report that shows what the product has been tested for, and by whom. But it is missing some important things to know such as:

  • did they test for pesticides, mold/fungus, and solvents? You absolutely want to know this. Cannabis is a type of plant that absorbs every substance in the soil that is grown in. It's even used to "clean up" dirty, hazmat-contaminated soil! You want to know their cannabis has been tested, especially if the patient has a serious medical condition like cancer.
  • the company says their product is organic, but what entity has certified it as organic? And what aspect is organic? The carrier oil? The cannabis plant itself?
  • that COA is dated 2022. You want one that is more current, at least within the last year but preferably within the last six months. This is because cannabinoids do weaken over time, and the product essentially becomes worthless. And you want one that matches the batch of the product you ordered.

To know that what you really ordered is safe and effective, and worth your money, I would call them and ask if they can provide a batch-specific Certificate Analysis for what you ordered, and also ask the other above questions.
