Hi All
Well it has been a month since Boomer came home and she is doing relatively well, although she has a bladder infection now and just finished an ear infection. Generally speaking she is doing well, eating ok and walking all the way to the park again though not a quickly but hey she is still able to do it. Some days are better than others, she still will not play with Ruben who is heart broken by this lack of play but I try to make it up to him. We take each day as it comes and hope for the best with Boomer.

It sounds like Boomer is making the adjustment well. If he is returning to his normal routine (walking to the park) that is wonderful. Forgive me, I don't recall how old Boomer is, but I think the younger they are, the better they return to being able to play with their doggie companions. Trouble is almost 12 and there is a minimal amount of play she tolerates with Duke. She knows he is stronger and better balanced and will do some mouth play, but that is about it.

Thanks for the update! Glad to hear Boomer is doing so well considering the challenges she's faced.

I am glad to see this post today, I was wondering how Boomer was doing.
I can't remember if you decided to do chemo with Boomer?
Maggie really took her time to get back to her 'normal' self- it was longer than a month. Like Boomer she was eating and drinking and getting around fine. She was 7.5 at the time of her amp and her little sister was 6. They were sort of past the play with each other phase anyway, so the lack of interaction was not noticeable.
Hopefully she will feel more secure with her balance as time goes on and get back to playing with Ruben.
Happy ampuversary too- one month so far, here's to many more!!
