I just read this whole thread, and am so happy to see that Bender is on the mend! Just make sure he doesn't overdo it too much, as he really needs to build up his strength.
Sounds like you'll have a wonderful Christmas with your pup...
Sending you many golden hugs!
Cathy
I was just thinking the same thing Cathy, so you beat me to it 🙂
It is really important to give them a slow start in the exersize department, they have lots of compensating to do, and muscles to build. Even if they are ready to run, make sure it is only for short moments for a little while. It isn't fun to have to curb them, but it also isn't fun when you have a dog with a tweaked neck because you didn't stop him from playing king of the hill!
Ask me how I know.... 🙁

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
We just got back from the vet to have Benders stitches removed. The surgeon said he looked great...strong...pulling like an ox. His lungs sound good and his weight is just a few lbs less then pre surgery. Good advice about taking it easy. I need to save him from himself...he is either at mach 10 or sleeping. The doc did clear him for normal activity so we have some fun days ahead!
Thanks again everyone!
