Roooohoooo! Well, sounds like he's doing great so far with a crummy situation. Thank dog for that Hang in there!!! Remember to keep taking advantage of the time he's in the hospital to rest up and stuff.
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
Wow, he was walking with IV tubes? That's amazing!
Oh how funny to think that someday the concept of pulling when walking would be considered a GOOD thing. Glad to know he's strong and healing. Keep us posted, we're cheering you and Bauer on.

Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Keep up the good work, Bauer. We're sending many, many, many healing thoughts your way.

I want to send my well wishes, also! Poor baby Bauer. I'm glad it's sounding pawsitive. Please let us know how he is tomorrow.
In the meantime, I'll keep sending pawsitive healing thoughts your way.
Comet's mom
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Bauer sends his thanks for all the well wishes, and wants to pass on more good news. Today Bauer's dad got to visit again after his bowel surgery. He still has in his drain and his IV lock, but no actual IV. He's eating like a pig, according to the vets, apparently impressive after bowel surgery. He was down a pound or two, so I think he's hungry. Dad walked him, and he pulled like a draft horse. Apparently, back in the hospital, they have a playpen set up, and Bauer likes to use his cone and push the whole playplen whereever he wants to go. He should get to come home tomorrow, so it's time to set up his little recovery suite in the kitchen to keep his sister/littermate Oakley close but away from his sutures.
The vets will huddle soon and plan the next step, which probably includes his amputation in another 1.5 weeks.
Thanks again everybody.
Hi Bauer! You are one strong guy! We want to add our good wishes for your speedy recovery.
You're making fantastic progress--with a spirit like yours, the amputation should be no problem at all!
Keep us posted.

Love Never Ends
Excellent news of excellent progress! Well done, Bauer, pushing that playpen wherever you want to go. That's a lot of healthy will. But remember even strong dogs need rest so make sure you get some of that too.

Oh goodness. I have been off the computer for awhile and am now catching up. Bauer's rollar coaster roaster ride was really fast for me! I am so glad to hear Bauer is doing better and will be home soon. Now the amputation should be a breeze after what you have already been through.
Keep us informed! I'll be praying for your family.
