So we are 4 days post op. So far Onyx is doing good but around me she seems mad 🙂

when visitors come around butt / stump wags she is a Rottweiler and the kisses go crazy. Around me not so much. I am not worried just wondering anyone else's experience

Hi Kent,

OK- most everyone will tell you that dogs don't feel that way....but not me.  I would say that most don't.  My pug Maggie was one of those who showed her displeasure.  When they pugs had to fast in the morning because one of them needed blood work Maggie would sit in the kitchen and glare at me.  Then she would move to the dining area and sit with her back to me, if I tried to pet her she would move away!

When I hid pills in food and Mag found the pill she wouldn't take food from me for days.

On the other hand, quad pug Obie has had two knee surgeries and he never showed that he was upset. My other dogs will spit pills out when they find them in food and immediately take food, with the pills again, from me.

To be honest I don't know if Mag was mad at me or upset because her routine was upset- she was quite set in her ways. She was much happier around visitors after her amp than she was with me too for a time. And I don't think she would be upset about something specific- that is she didn't link me directly with the amp, but she did link me with her being unhappy.

Be sure you are being upbeat around Onyx- I made that mistake with Maggie.  She was grumpy, I was grumpy and on and on.  Maybe she liked other people better because they were happy!
