Snapped a photo of Effie's amputation scar. I am emailing it to the vet, but might not hear back for a while. Does this look like the start of an infection to you guys?

Hey guys, glad you posted here. Your future posts won't need approval.

I'm not a vet, so I can't say if it's infected just by looking at it. I recall Jerry's incision had some crusties like that. Is the area warm or smelly? Any fluid leaking?

Hope you hear back from your vet soon, and can have a relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!  Let us know what the vet says.

Thanks so much, Jerry! The vet did call back, and they said it was normal post-irritation. Nothing to worry about. Yay!

Oh good!

I was going to chime in & say that the scar looks really good!  And that it just looks like a little bit of irritation.  As long as there's no drainage (it looks pretty dry, so that's great!), and it's not red or swollen (it just looks like a little piece of scab, but that will fall of on it's own).  All normal healing smiley
