Well, we are two days before Ajax's one month "ampuversary" and after this weekend, I think this will be our last post in "treatment and recovery" -- we are recovered! Ajax is 100% back to his "old" self, running, playing, barking for the frisbee, visiting other dogs, hopping up on the (low) bed, pulling to walk farther .... we couldn't be happier (except of course if wasn't so darn HOT here). Only thing that we are working on is slippery stairs, but he is beginning to trust the harness, so as long as I always have that with me, we should be fine. We aren't using it all the time, because he doesn't need it and it's just too hot.
I took a bunch of pictures and hope to post them soon. I do encourage anyone worried about amputation to take a look at all the "Ajax" posts - I can't imagine a more successful recovery than we have had.
Good luck everyone!
Congratulations on moving to the "Hopping Around" forum instead of treatment and recovery
Ajax certainly seems to be flying thru all of this with ease! Good for you and good for him!
Tracy, Maggie's mom
Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
Chloe too doesn't need the harness all the time either. She seems to go up the stairs on her own terms rather than wanting to be drug up with the harness on...
Yay for good news!!
-Chloe's mom
Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Best news all day! Yeaaaaay! Ajax's recovery is the one we all hope for, he's such a role model!

Jo Ann & Tasha
Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
That's fantastic news! He's a strong willed boy!
Yay to "Hopping Around"! Next stop..."Anything Goes"!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Woohoo Ajax!
Catie -
Birthday – November 4 2003
Amputation – January 13 2010
Crossed the Bridge – June 2 2011
Thanks for all the cheers! Today Ajax actually played tug of war in the park (with a dog we know). That was fun, I haven't seen him play with other dogs since the surgery.
Shelby - Chicks dig him, so Ajax is a little hard to get, but you might luck out b/c he particularly likes blondes (much to his mother's brunette chagrin)
Ok everyone - I painstakingly got some pics onto my computer, but they are not "hosted" so I can't upload. Tried to email, and was rejected by jerry@tripawds.com (don't worry, we aren't taking it personally). Any EASY way to do this? Jerry? Cometdog?

I use a picture hosting site (photobucket) - I upload my pictures there and then it creates a URL for me that I can paste on this forum.

Sure, if you start a Tripawds Blog, you'll have a place to easily upload photos. Otherwise, they must be hosted somewhere online to embed them here in the forums. Many members use PhotoBucket. Flickr will also work, as will Facebook (IF the photos are not set as private).
We would never reject your email. Unless the files were HUGE, they should have gone through. If you want to try sending us a photo or two, of reasonable size, we'll gladly post them for you. You can also send one at a time via Jerry's contact form. If you wish to continue posting photos, we'll politely request that you start a blog or some other photo sharing account.
If you receive some sort of error when sending us email, please start a Tech Support topic with as much detail as possible. Thanks!
