Quincy is now one week post 3rd of 4 chemo doses. He is still doing well and similar to other sessions we had the side effects well under control with the meds. We did see some more tiredness this time than perhaps last 2 times but after a day or so he was back to his normal self. And his weird yelping that I have reported before is decreased even without the gabapentin so whatever is/was going on it seems to be relatively minor and like the vet said, not physical.
Our 4th (and final) session is in 2 weeks (hopefully). I am already getting very nervous because it will be X-rays first to check to see if it has spread (his initial film in Feb w/ diagnosis showed chest was clear) and then the usual blood test and if everything ok the final chemo. Obviously can't control what the tests will show but it is very nerve racking. And I hate seeing him post sedation - that really knocks him out.
He is doing well and I would say totally recovered so we have no regrets (even with the chemo that doesn't seem to effect him too much). Also still bothered by the slightly lower white blood cell count vet reported last time. Hope it isn't too much that would prevent treatment at the end of the month assuming X-rays are clear. It would be so nice to be done with so many visits and procedures. I always had end of April in my mind as a time to turn the page.
Fingers crossed and on to enjoying the next 2 weeks....
Hooray for Quincy! Otis is also doing well. Oncologist put him on Pepcid A/C (the people medicine) which has helped the lip licking, tummy discomfort type symptoms. Gave him Cerenia one day, but other than that, haven't really had to use the oncology meds. Our # 4 is April 26 - an incredibly busy day for me at work so I won't be able to pick him up from chemo until afternoon, but I really wanted to keep "on schedule." Good luck with the x-ray, and keep us posted! I have to admit that I am glad our x-ray was with chemo #3.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Thanks for updating us on Quincy!
He feels great and that's all that matters! Nombetter "check up" than that!!
No worries about the low wbc. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it happens two or even three times! There's actually a "theory" out there that it means the chemo is working if the wbc is low!
I remember the relief I felt after Happy Hannah's fourth and last chemo! I'm not even sure if she did an xray or not, I guess we did. Didn't .atter, we were free of vet visits and got on with living life to the fullest!!
Love to you and Quincy!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Otis' chemo #4 is today. Quincy must be later this week? Good luck to them both!
