Thanks for asking, paws120.
The sweet girl had her staples removed last Thursday. She did great and was such a sweetheart during her pt evaluation. They said we could be very conservative in our approach b/c she is so young and (otherwise) healthy. She loved her visit back to the hospital and ate enough treats from everyone she encountered to make up for her lower appetite.
We've started taking her out for little walks. She is loving smelling EVERYTHING and really enjoys seeing other people and dogs. I think it lifts her spirits. We are happy to be done with the evil cone and she has started to show us her old personality, including wanting to be chased around the coffee table. I think the staples were really bothering her.
We have her oncology consult tomorrow. I plan on talking to the doc about the supplements. We did order the Immunity Plus and Lola is not a fan. We can get her to eat it with some boiled chicken, but peanut butter is not sufficient.
Oh, and her hair is growing back so quickly! I guess that's why Goldens are so good at shedding. 😉
That's really great news! Yay Lola and family!! Sounds like she is back to loving life, I am so glad. People don't realize what an impact sutures/staples make on an individual, people included. So many times they pull, even in one area, and removal is such a game changer.
Good luck with your consult, I hope things go well, keeping fingers, toes, and all paws crossed for you!
Hugs,
Jackie and Huck

Awww what a great pupdate! Yay for moving forward and getting those awful staples out.
If she didn't like K9 Immunity I would look at trying Armor-Up instead. The flavor is much more appealing for most dogs. We just wrote about it in the Tripawds Nutrition blog .
Let us know how your oncology visit goes.

The oncology appt. went well today. I feel good about the doc and the plan. They checked Lola's bloodwork and it was good, so she started chemo today. She was in a very good mood when I picked her up. I think they spoil her at the hospital. She had some dinner, enjoyed some outdoor time and is resting comfortably. She's such a trooper!
YAY FOR ,LOLA!! Staples are out and she's wanting you to chase hre around the coffee tavle!!!😁 Seeing routines return and seeing the sparkle come back is such a delight!! And it still gets better!!
Thanks for the wonderful updates.....now we need pictures to go with them!!!
Hugs
