Hi all,
It's been a while and Tango and I feel bad for not dropping in. 5 months into our 3-legged journey and I'm afraid to say how good it's been going for fear of jinxing it. Tango had a rear leg amp for osteosarcoma in June. We decided not to go with chemo and we're just taking it day by day.
And they've been great days. Tango has been walking to work with me every day, getting showered with attention and pats all the way, and then spoiled my co-workers. He relishes all the attention (and the occasional bit of dropped lunch.) He's made friends with the folks at the corner store and the coffee shop and enjoys the perks of going into stores where 4-legged dogs aren't allowed:) He was a little overweight since he hadn't been able to walk much for so long, but he's down to his fighting weight, which has been a real relief on his double-duty back leg. We had a set-back a few months ago when he sprained the back leg (my fault-too much too soon) but it was mild and some rest and massage put him right!
He is closer to his old self than I ever thought he'd be, and I'm so grateful for the extra time we're getting, no matter what happens next. I just wanted to drop by and say THANKS again to everyone here. I never would have gone through with it without the good advice and comfort I found here, and it's been worth it!

Aww Lee Anne, that is GREAT news about Tango! Thank you for taking the time to update us and show others that while the road to recovery might not be as perfect as any of us would want, things DO get better!
Never feel bad for taking so long to come here, that just means you're living life to the fullest and having a good time together. Let's see some pics of all that fun

Excellent news. Yes, being a Tripawd usually does give you extra benefits that 4 legged dogs don't get. Humans are such a soft touch!
Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
