I am hoping at some point it's smooth sailing.
So today...four weeks post amp with he incision healed there seems to be two tiny holes in two different areas draining small amounts of fluid. It seems to be mostly fluid with trace amounts of blood.
I am taking Odin to the Dr tomorrow just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Thanks so much.
Hmm. Is this is a part of the incision that isn't healing or did it close up and then reopen? Either way, I think a visit to the vet is definitely in order. It's been my impression that after 2 weeks, the incision site should be closed and healed enough to remove stitches...definitely troubling that at 4 weeks you have two holes there.
Good luck, let us know what's going on. I hope it's nothing!
Jack - adopted with a crooked leg at 4 months old, managed for six years, and now much-happier Tripawd as of 5/24/2012!
Yep- been there - actually her incision healed well, but where her drains were- yikes I didnt think it would heal. They didnt even start to leak till about 2 weeks post op. Took her to the vet and they said it was better it was draining and not collecting inside. We actually eneded up putting her collar back on and wrapping it, after we did that finally it stopped. Bunches of healing payers coming your way:)
Try not to worry, but yes, see your vet. This has happened before with members and it's rarely anything serious. It does sound like a seroma and as long as there is no stinky or green discharge, or red inflamed tissue, Odin's probably OK. He may need the cone of shame again...ugh! Good luck. Keep us posted.
