My 7 year old golden, Louie, had his front left leg amputated Thursday afternoon, overall he's doing incredible! He is having an issue emptying his bladder fully when he goes to the bathroom. Squat, pee, walk, squat, pee, walk. He's pooping fine! I didn't know if it had something to do with him being new to balancing on three legs? He's never had potty problems pre surgery.

Hi Louie and Kaylee! Welcome! So glad he is doing pretty well overall. It's still early so some challenges may be ahead like this one but nothing you can't handle.

So does it seem like he wants to go but can't get comfortable enough to do so?

Maybe this article will help:

Our Molly is 4 days post amputation and had the opposite problem!  Peeing was great but pooping was pretty much nonexistent  That is- until this morning.  Lets just say anyone traveling into our yard might think we have a horse 😛

Great to hear Louie is doing better!
