Yes, I did say RUNNING! She is now pain free and loving life. She is back to her old self again, the self we had not seen since April before the pain took hold.
When you pick him up from the vet after surgury make sure to have your vehicle prepared.

Brandy, that's great to hear! Yeay!
And terrific advice about covering the seats too, we always forget to mention that!

My apologies…she, not he! Speaking of Chasers, maybe I need a drink!
We'll be thinking of you!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Chaser sailed through the surgery. No complications. No unusual blood loss. She's on an IV now, for fluids and pain meds.
We'll be able to spend some time with her this evening. SO GLAD she made it OK. I had nightmares that we had made this monumental decision...only to lose her on the operating table. Especially after arriving at the vet's this morning. I sat down to wait, and Chaser was so spooked she tried to jump on my lap. Goldens do NOT make good lap dogs.
Oh, well. Onward and upward!
Thanks to all for the kind words and prayers. Now the real fun begins.
Thanks for the update, best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Great news for Chaser! The day of Catie's surgery I was on pins and needles all day until we got the word from the surgeon that everything went well. The waiting for that phone call was wretched.
The real hard part's done; now it's recovery time, which has its own challenges, for sure, but it's all absolutely onward and upward from here.
And Catie - all sweet 75 lbs of her - is truly a lap dog at heart. Riley not so much.
Thanks for the update!! Look forward to more.

Great news! What a relief!
I think vets should be able to prescribe drugs to us pawrents so we aren't a bundle of nerves! Or at least slip a Valium in the dog's meds and give us a wink and a nod!
Let us know when she gets home!

I spent the night at the Vet's office with Fortis the day of his surgery. To calm my nerves I loosened his Fentanyl Patch and put a couple of my fingers underneath and slept like a baby. Much better than a Valium. Ok, I'm joking!
That's great news. Way to go Chaser and family. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
