WHEEE!! I am relieved I am getting here later, but I am sorry you went thru the no pee scare alone! I would have been concerned as well even more so since you have had issues before. They claim cats can go 24-48 hours without peeing. BUT I would be frantic if my boys didn't pee in 24 hours so glad to hear we have pee yaay! Eating & using the box and being a cat too🎉🎉👏🏻😁 Ditto Sally Spectacular update
Yes we can relate to the aging faster on this journey they will be lots of scares, and you will see how capable he is on three. Purrkins still scares us on occasion they no zero limits. They do need to relearn some things so glad you are there to watch and see. They get on with life as they did on 4 legs. They are faster on three than they were on 4 as you have witnessed. Tripawd proof the house the best you can. That text is grey for a reason;)
You will have to share what fruit Rembrandt usually eats that's amazing I have tried fruit and its a no go.
Thanks for the update keep healing, eating and peeing Rembrandt onward and upward buddy!
Good job Mom

YES WE DID THE PEE DANCE AND NOW WE DID THE POOP DANCE TOO! The cicle is complete! 😀
The thing about tripawd-proofing the house is that it's not completely my decision to make... You see, I adopted Rembrandt during college (his biological mom was rescued by an acquaintance of mine), in a different city than the one he's in now. When I finished college, I spent quite some time unemployed, so I moved back to my mom's, bringing the cat with me. But since he adapted so well (my mom has a shih tzu and they both get along very well; besides, she spends much more time at home than I do nowadays), I felt bad about moving him again, so now he lives with my mom.
Thankfully, since we found out he would need to go through surgery, I managed to get a 2 week vacation from work so I could stay at home during post op and take care of him. I'm honestly still very torn, I miss him terribly and I'd feel much more at ease if I took him back with me, but I think moving him would cause too much stress, and don't want that... I'll give it some time and see how he recovers in the next few months. I'd love to hear if anyone has similar stories!
Well, at least I convinced my mom to look up screens for our windows (her apartment is only one floor from the ground, so it was pretty safe when he had four legs, since it's not high enough for him to get hurt), which was my main concern.
All that aside, things are getting much easier now! It's been a stressful experience, but it opened my eyes to pets with special needs, and if in the future I ever get to adopt another cat or dog, I'd happily give a home to one 🙂
Glad everyone got a giggle and a snort laugh lol! We have both pee and poop images & dances for celebrations here 😁😁😁
Great to hear things are less stressful, you can breathe now! Enjoy & worry less!
I think you have a good plan as in taking each day as it comes. Ask yourself some of these questions in the meantime and see if you come up with an answer that sits better with you.
Who is his Rembrandt's person? Mom or You?
Where do you think Rembrandt would choose if he could tell you?
Where would you worry more or less about Rembrandt at Moms or with you?
Which way may leave you with regrets?
You want to cherish every day with Rembrandt regardless of where he is at your place or Moms - live to have zero regrets. We all know you love Rembrandt and want the best for him hopefully asking yourself those questions will show you the answer that is best for you all!
Scratches to Rembrandt, please! We would love to see photos of him.

GREAT questions Holly! I think these apply to almost every situation when someone is worried during recovery. Hmm. I see a blog post coming...
