A new cancer immunotherapy ("the Yale Vaccine") developed by researchers at Yale U is being evaluated in this study led by Therajan LLC
Potential benefits of cancer immunotherapy for pups
- May stop or slow recurrence and spreading of cancer
- May help when surgery is not possible, or if chemotherapy doesn't work
- May reverse cancer metastasis
How does it work?
- Safely activates the immune system against cancer cells that are over-expressing EGFR and HER2 proteins.
- The vaccine has already been given to over 600 dogs. Minimum side effect reported.
- May help with many different cancer types. Preliminary data for osteosarcoma and hemangiosarcoma published.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Caroline's dad just mentioned she is on this vaccine. I'll post other stories here as I come across them:
Heads up - today they announced new locations in the US - and now Canada! Click here and scroll down to see the location list.
They also updated the qualification details in early July. Please see those here.

Therajan, the company that will be offering the Yale EGFR/HER2 commercially once it receives USDA approval (any day now!) has a new website so you can learn more about it and find out where to get it for your dog. Once approved it should be available more broadly beyond the current limited study sites.

Just a note that the Yale EGFR/HER2 study is now offering a booster of the immunotherapy at 10-12mos after the initial treatment. It’s an optional phase of the study that you’re not obliged to continue in after the initial year study, but if a pup benefits in that initial year it’s worth considering.

The latest details about the study and it’s progress are in this new webinar video.
