Just came across this today. What a sweetie! If you're in Winnepeg, help this girl find the home he deserves:
Leg amputation to give dog new lease on life: Winnipeg Humane Society
The Winnipeg Humane Society said a leg amputation surgery will help give a dog in its care a new lease on life.
Yazmine, a one-year-old Husky-Shepherd cross, broke her front right leg and received no medical attention for the injury.
As a result, the fracture didn’t heal correctly, leaving the dog with a significant limp and deformed leg.

Good idea Linda. I'll copy the link to Whisper's blog. Don't know if she still checks it or if she'll get an "alert" she has a post.
Also gonna let Stirling knkw (Tahoe' Dad)
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
I'll send them a message 🙂

Yazmine is indeed very sweet & beautiful and tugs at our heartstrings, especially since we tend to be drawn to Husky's. I think it is because they can be very talkative.
At this point we are holding off on adding to the family as we currently have a house full of senior animals. Our dogs Klamur and Kuri(Cry) will both be 10 this year, and 2 of our cats Dum & Bum(siblings from the same litter) will be 20 this year. Our 'kittens' Noah & Little Fart (also siblings) are 6 years old this year, not quite seniors but approaching middle age. even Athena, our Bearded Dragon and Gon, our Cockatiel are 11 & 13 years old.
I am discovering that aging animals require more time, patience, and of course more medical attention than when they were young.
We know when we get to the place where we can once again add another life, another energy into our home, the right one(s) will be there for us.
In the meantime you can bet that we will keep tabs on Yazmine's progress so we can share the joy when some lucky person comes to take her to her forever home.

ANITA! So good to hear from you! Just seeing Whisper's avatar picture has me grinn ear to ear! He's srill "here" making us smile!!
Love hearing about all your great pack. Such a great variety! Your huge heart has always come shining through. All animals who pick you are so lucky!
Lots of hugs to all. And just a reminder, Whisper had the best earth life possible with you! Now though, be careful what you do or say...he can hear you and he can see you! He's young, vibrant, has all his hearing and sight restored...as well as all his legs!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
