Waddles is a 5 yr old (best guess) female what the shelter thinks is a Standard long hair Dachshund or Dachshund mix. Apparently the rescue that took her doesn't think she has any dachshund and may be returning her to the shelter. I don't have any pics right now. She is overweight and has some problems with her right rear leg (Left rear leg is the one that is missing) but she scoots around on a slick floor and will get up and walk on the ground or on a floor that she can get traction on. She was left in the overnight catch cage at the shelter in Wetumpka, AL with no information. She can be a little snippy with other dogs at first and is a little bit food aggressive with dogs and sometimes over protective with people. Most of the time she is very sweet. She will probably be coming back to the shelter this week. Humane Society of Elmore County, Wetumpka, AL. 334 567-3377, hselco@bellsouth.net.
Hi Dawn, thank you for posting her story, we appreciate it and look forward to some pics. Meanwhile we'll keep posting her info on Twitter, once you have pics we can share it on our Facebook page too if you haven't already.
