Wyatt, remind your mama that there's always the "I'm going to get (fill-in-the-blank) and you can come with me or wait here". Then they come along and are RELIEVED when you only bring home the one (or possibly 2, if it's cats, since they don't take up much room). Then there's the "it's just for the weekend so he/she isn't in the kennel alone". Come Monday it's all over and you're picking out new names. And the "he/she was in a cage in the pet supply store just crying because all her/his siblings got adopted". Again, more for cats, but the story can be changed as needed.
Oh, and don't forget that your vet can be a great source (of all future blame), especially when it involves a 22-pound cat named Pickles who has the BIGGEST poop you ever saw. But I digress....
we want them, too, Wyatt...ALL of them.
