Hi all,
I was sent here at the recommendation of a friend and fellow rescuer. While I do have a beautiful tripod named Arielle who happened to survive osteosarcoma 8 years ago now! 15 and still going strong. ;0)! The reason for my post is for a dog I have never met. I hope that she will catch the heart of one of you or someone you may know. If anyone does want to adopt her or help out, my fellow rescue friend has offered to transport her and even temporarily foster her.
Georgia is a German Shepherd who has suffered greatly…her leg was recently taken due to a chain wrapped around her leg and her attempt to chew her own leg off.
She is a beauty for certain and in her eyes a deeper beauty shines through despite her trauma. As it is with so very many of our dear dogs.
She is at a shelter in Orange County and has only a few days to get out. She will be held until just Tuesday, October 25th.
Here is her contact info:
Please contact: leslie at dau4 [at] comcast.net
I do have a picture of her on my desktop but I am unsure as to how to add it to this post.
Please do contact me directly if you have any difficulty contacting Leslie.
Many blessings to all,
Kaeleya Risley
Thank you for posting about Georgia. We'll contact friends at the German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California to see if they can help. That's where Codie Rae, Travis and our own Wyatt all came from – also tripawds due to neglect.

There is obviously some confusion about this dog. We just confirmed that Georgia is not even in California! She is cureently located in Brewton, AL at the Humane Society of Escambia County, and is going to South East German Shepherd Rescue in Raleigh NC. She was apparnetly never in danger of being put to sleep.
Please see this existing topic about helping her find her way if you can help.

yes I just finished communicating with Leslie!! She thought it very strange that it came through as an OC shelter! But atleast Georgia is safe and that is what matters!! thank you all very much for your concern!
This kind of wonderful mix up is a rarity! No doubt I will come across some tripods in the future who need help.
many thanks again!
Blessings,
Kaeleya
hi again,
I just contacted Leslie again and she said she wasn't sure which rescue was working with Georgia. Did you find this info out by calling the shelter in AL?
I just want to make sure there isn't another tripod needing our help in an OC shelter and this mix up isn't a disaster waiting to happen.
thanks again,
Kaeleya
[Image Can Not Be Found]Heard it through the GSD grapevine that she's headed to South East German Shepherd Rescue in Raleigh NC. If you discover there is another tripawd in neeed, please start a new topic.
