I just read this from beginning to end and want to go back and do it again...you are all hereos who conspired to bring Miles to his forever home...what a story....what a face...what a wonderful dog going to a wonderful home and it is all wonderful wonderful (the songs are starting and the dancers are coming from stage right)
for those who posted about getting the new puppies or a new dog...I am going through that now...feeling like maybe it was too soon and I was disloyal to Magic's memory...a lot of that is the puppyhood I think (boy Dawn, how lucky are you to get this well behaved adult!!)...I went from a 17 year old kitty and 11 year old dog who knew the rules, the routines, would never dream of pottying in the house and had never seen a crate....now I have BABIES who do all of that!!
This is the best story ever.....just the best. happy happy tears for you
Here's the first video of when I "met" Miles for the first time in Reno. I have more to share, but the local CBS affiliate KOVR is coming in 10 minutes to do a news story on him! I will post more later.
Rottie Raven, osteosarcoma at 8-1/2 years old, amputation in October '09 and in February '10 due to liver mets he went back to heaven where he came from. raven.tripawds.com
Now I have Miles, rottie mix amputee from a shelter and traveled 1500 miles to find his way here through the Rescue Railroad thanks to tripawds.com. miles.tripawds.com
Miles made the news! A camera crew from CBS 13 in Sacramento, CA is on their way to interview Dawn for the 10:00 News tonight. The segment should be online tomorrow. We'll post the link as soon as it is.

Once again, I'm all welled up! That was so special.
I can't wait to see the news story!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Oh that is just so special! It's great to see you both together. Congratulations!

You both look so happy to be together in the video. Miles looks like a really happy boy, that tail always wagging. Congratulations to you both for finding each other. Looking forward to seeing the news stroy.

Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
NOTE: CBS 13 in Sacramento has posted their news segment video featuring Miles and Dawn. Great feature, even if they do start it off by calling Miles a "disabled" dog.

Wow, what a great uplifting story. Miles sure does looks like a sweet boy and Dawn, you look so happy.
This story is special enough for the morning new programs.....quick, call Harry Smith! Or is it Katie Couric who does the segment called "everyone has a story". This could definitely go national!

Hey Dawn, you go girl. I just love this story, Miles looks like such a great dog, I am so happy for both of you. I can't believe how calm he looks, that boy is special, and so are you for taking him in. Paws up to both of you, Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
