Pepper Lou is being fostered in St Paul, but needs her own place.

She is with Heading Home K9 Rescue, Minneapolis, MN.  She is a Black Lab Mix, and just turned 5 years old.  She was surrendered when her owner had to go into an Assisted Living Facility. We don't know when she lost her back lower leg, but it is completely healed.  The prior vet records don't indicate cancer or injuries.

See Pepper Lou's blog on this website.

She is your typical lab, she loves to play fetch, chew on her nylabone.  We do crate her during the day with a kong.  We have 4 other pups in our home of varying sizes & personalities & she has figured out how to be friends with all of them.

If you have specific questions about her, please ask on her blog & I/ her foster will respond smiley

She has tested heart worm positive at this time, which means, that treatment will be done through our vet before an adoption is finalized, so that we can do our part to ensure a healthy happy dog joins your home. Heartworm treatment consists of a 2 day treatment at the vet followed by 4 weeks of restricted activity, and placement timing is on an individual case by case at the comfort level of the foster and adopter.

You can email kladams4545@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application.

Ohhh  my gosh, thank you for sharing her story and posting here and in Pepper's new blog. We'll work hard at getting the word out via social media, so come back here often to update us. Thanks for all the great work you're doing, she is so lucky to have such great care. Hopefully this sweetie will find a home very soon.

Looking for ideas as to where we could look or post or contact to get the word out about Pepper Lou.  She is a great girl, and I just want get her settled into her own place.

Any other suggestions - other rescues, or groups that might be a better fit?

The current rescue is willing to consider an out of state adoption, so if you have references, and are willing to come pick her up please email me at sunshine999299@gmail.com - we are just looking for the best place for her live out the rest of her days.

We've been putting her info up on social media, are you active in Twitter/FB/Instagram etc? Lots of great ways to get the word out like that.

I am sorry to say - I am not that tech saavy - I only FB :) and that is because my son (Uncle Justin) set me up :)

I was able to get the rescue to agree to an out of state adoption if the adopter themselves comes to get her - wheich requires extra effort, but also would weed out folks that might have bad motives. If there is another rescue or sanctuary group that wants her, they should contact Katie to discuss further.

I see you reposting for me out there, which is great.

I just last night posted to a local East Side of St Paul Minnesota group & have gotten some responses, so keep all fingers and toe nails crossed. Hopefully Pepper Lou (& I) can go out on some visits this weekend, and see which ones she might like.

By the way, thanks for the gorgeous neckerchief - Pepper Lou will wear it with pride!!!
