The cause of his rear leg amputation is unknown. What IS know is that Otis has already been picked up as a stray THREE times and this time is his FOURTH….his owner has been notified but she has not reclaimed him.
His last day is Friday March 11, 2011.
PLEASE, if you can help, contact Pam at BHS74FlyGirl@aol.com ASAP.
I cannot fathom the thought of this beautiful boy dying simply because of neglect on the part of his owner.
Thanks.
Just curious if anypawdy has called to confirm his time is really up this week?
I'd be hoppy to call, just let me know. We can also put this in our Facebook page once we can confirm he's still available.

Friends, now you understand MY frustration. Been pulling and getting dogs out of this shelter into foster/permanent homes and sometimes info can be like pulling teeth.
This is the only info I can get: This is Otis' FOURTH time being picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. Each time his owners came to bail him out. This time, they chose not to because they are broke and ready to welcome a baby into their family. (I know, I know.......don't get me started)
Otis is 11, gets along with other animals and supposedly his reason for being a TriPawd is as a result of some accident. (Gee, perhaps he was hit by a car???) Regardless, he has until 6PM on Friday night and then he goes onto the Euthanasia List. This shelter *usually* does not euthanize on weekends, so the chances are pretty good he'll be put down on Monday morning.
Thank you for spreading the word.......this one is way too near and dear to me.
Oooooh, didn't know you were actually involved with that shelter. Thanks for all you do, you are a saint!
We'll put the word out on FB and Twiter.

I hope someone helps Otis out. The thought that this sweet boy will be put down because of pawrents neglect and care hurts my heart. I wish I could help but I have my two boys who are finally getting some sense of normalcy after Apollo's passing. I will pass the word on pray for some good news.
Oh happy day......we found rescue for Otis.
HE IS SAFE!!!!! Wooo hoooo!!! I'm doing the happy dance. Happy, happy...joy joy. My kids at the Bridge are all joining in!
Otis is safe..................thank God.
(P.S. Now you know why I'm on here as much as I want to be......two p/t jobs, rescue, 3 goldens, 1 lab, 4 cats and rescue, rescue, rescue...........)
But your posts are memorable!
YAY for Otis!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Fabulous, fabulous news! Tripawd Love changes the world.
Please keep us posted on how he does. We'll still be here to help the rescue out with publicity.

Hi again TriPawd friends! Otis is going to be fostered on the west coast of Florida. One of my fellow *shelter trollers* has a home up in PA who is interested in him. Once he settles in at his foster home, foster mom will be able to more accurately describe his likes/dislikes, how he does with other dogs and/or cats, etc.
I'm truly thrilled......he's a young 11 years old and I see good things in his future. Thank you, all of you, for the words of support and for spreading the word! This crazy thing called the Internet really does work in finding these orphans their new homes.
And Comet......my Kona (10 year old pale yellow rescued lab) wants to know if she is eligible to be a Monkey Butt. She grunts like a pig, makes sounds like a monkey .......she can, at times, be annoying when she insists on banging her big blocky head into my knee. Maybe if she carries the Title o' Monkeybutt she'll chill out! LOL
