Just got word of this sweet doggie being cared for by the Farley Foundation in North Carolina:

From a news story:

Abbey is a one-year old female Border collie mix who was found as a stray in the Eagle Springs area. Unclaimed at AC, Abbey displayed a severe limp in her right, front leg which was subsequently discovered to be a shattered elbow, the result of an apparent gunshot wound that was never treated. Read the entire news story

From the Farley Foundation Website

Female – Collie Mix – Age/1-2 Years – 48 Lbs – Black with White |

Abbey is as sweet as they come and extremely tolerant of those who care for her daily.  When Abbey arrived at The Farley Foundation she had to undergo surgery to amputate most of her front, right leg due to an old gunshot wound that shattered her elbow. She is healing nicely, making new friends at Farley and exhibiting great confidence. We’re very proud of the strides she has made! Abbey is a rare beauty and will make one lucky family very proud to call her their own.  Abbey is compatible with and enjoys the company of other dogs when paired with a non-dominant companion.  She likes younger, medium-sized female dogs. A home with older respectful children and no cats is preferred. Abbey will make an easy companion especially if the home has a fenced yard.  For more information please contact Betsy Ficarro at (910) 315-9569 or adopt4leggeds@aol.com
