Nola, greyhound/beagle mix, is her rescue's PET OF THE MONTH this month! She is available for adoption to a very special home. Despite her missing leg, she has no special needs -- she is very capable -- and would do best with older children. She is spayed, housebroken, UTD on her shots, and good w/other dogs but does not do well with cats. (http://www.petf.....70?recno=3)
Her story: Nola was running loose because her previous owner thought leashes were cruel. She was hit by a car, dragged several feet, and had so much damage to her left front leg that it had to be amputated and her right front leg was broken and was in a cast for months.

Nola is a beautiful dog! Check out her pictures, east coasters.
I'm surprised she doesn't do well with cats. Does she just pester them too much (she looks like a certain tripawd I know who was cat-obsessed and it took me a few months to figure out it was true love and not a killer instinct) or is she more serious in her dislike of them?
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Will the adopter need to have a bean bag chair for her, or will it come with her?
Heh heh… that reminds me of a dog I once babysat who used to mount the bean bag chair in their living room. He'd hump it all across the floor for like 5-10 minutes if I just left him to it.
Nola though is clearly a lady, who knows they are for napping on… not for… you know.
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
