Monty was brought into Nacogdoches shelter, severely emaciated, and too weak to walk more than a few steps. The Nac Fosters group was called by a staff member in hopes we had room. When we arrived, we discovered he was Tripawd. I have called all the local vets, to see if we could find when it was done, and who his owners may have been, with no luck. He has been in foster care a week now, and I am happy to report he has gained 2 lbs and his blood work is all within healthy ranges! He was low heartworm positive, we have started treatments for that as well. Monty appears to be a boxer/mastiff mix, at current date he is 50.6 lbs, and is still intact(we will be getting that fixed on the 2nd) He is amazingly loving to children, and even other dogs, I have not had him around cats to determine his kindness to cats. His age has been set at 3-4 yrs old, and we are hoping that because he is young, and other than the clear lack of food, healthy, he will over come his heart worm status within months.
