MAX was befriended by a homeless gentleman who found him roaming in downtown Fresno, California. Unfortunately, Max ran out in front of a car one evening and his leg was broken. The man did not know what to do to take care of him. He tried splinting the leg with a piece of wood and called our rescue for assistance - Westside Rescue. We assist the homeless that have pets, meeting downtown every other week to provide food, vaccinations, flea and tic medication, leashes and collars and sign them up to have the pets spayed and neutered. Often we end up assisting with these medical emergencies, so we took Max in. Our Veterinarian was immediately going to amputate, but thought a colleague in San Jose may be able to save his leg. This did not prove to be possible, so Max is a "tripawd" boy.
We opted not to return Max to the homeless man, and have been boarding and networking him to find him a permanent home - or even a foster situation. He is incredibly sweet - gets along with other dogs, kids, men & women...his only flaw seems to be his predatory interest in cats.
I can't seem to insert his picture, so here is a link to my facebook page...
Contact Shannon Willson at 559-801-2356 if interested in helping this special boy. We will do our best to provide transport if outside of the Central Valley.
Thank you for sharing this. We have moved your topic here to the Tripawd Rescue forum where Max is more likely to find a home, and edited the topic title for you. Here are instructions for adding images to forum posts. Your future forum posts will not require moderation.

He is gorgeous. I know he needs a lot more care than a homeless person can provide, but I feel a pang of sorrow for the man who must have loved him.
