Junior was found as a stray in Camden, NJ. His back left leg was dangling so he was rushed to the vet where they assumed he'd been hit by a car. After a few days of trying to save his leg, the decision was made to amputate it. The local shelter (who Junior belonged to at that point) said that they would not be able to afford the surgery and suggested Junior be put to sleep. Everyone at the vet had already fallen in love with him and didn't want that to happen so they started calling rescue groups. The day we got the phone call about Junior was the same day my last foster had officially been adopted, so it was perfect and I had a spot to foster him once he was ready to come home. The vet was so thrilled to have found a rescue group, they donated the entire surgery to us.
Now Junior is a 6 months old pit bull mix who is no different than any other puppy. He's silly, he plays, he races around my yard with my other dogs, nothing stops him. He gets along great with all other animals and is housebroken/crate trained. He has a little stump where he is missing his leg so that he can sit and have something to balance on and it is also shaped to fit a prostethic should he ever need one. The incision site is totally healed and he is ready to go home. Below are pictures and our rescue's information, please share him and his story to help him find a great home!
Bless you for helping to save Junior, and thank you for sharing his information. We have moved your topic here to the Tripawd Rescue Forum , where hopefully the Tripawds community can help find him a home. If you have not already done so, please consider posting to the Tripawds Facebook Fan Page too.
Provide updates when you can and be sure to send anyone interested in adopting junior to this post with links to helpful information about amputation for dogs.
Couldn't help but fix your avatar too. That last picture of junior is adorable and apparently your avatar upload failed, usually due to an invalid file format.

Just noticed you started a blog for Junior too. That's another great place to post updates and photos which will help get the word out. His new pawrents can easily take over the blog after he's adopted if they join Tripawds. That's how Ranger found his furever home!
