Harley is our wonderful 2 year old foster German Shepard boy who had his front left leg amputated recently. We've had him for several months, the vet tried to save his leg by amputating part of his paw, but it just didn't work. Harley was apparently hit by a car in April, and the family who had him looked for someone to take him for a few months before they found me. I have fostered for rescues before, but this guy I took in on my own. He had a pretty bad infection that we just couldn't get control of. Harley turned 2 years old on December 14th, 11, and is happy and healthy and very active! He will need to go to a home with a fenced yard and to a family who is active and wants a boy to take for walks and play ball with along with cuddling on the couch! He hasn't had much training and will have to go to obedience classes. He knows basic commands and is completely house trained, but definitely needs some help with how to behave on a leash! He is very smart and just wants to make his people happy, and he learns quickly! He is a very sweet boy and is full of love! I haven't come across anyone yet who he hasn't liked! He has been around kids, large and small dogs, and cats. I would prefer to find a home for him with older kids because of his size (100 lbs!) and his activity level. I am asking for an adoption fee of $200 that will go directly towards his surgery costs. If you are interested in Harley, please send me an email, and I'll send you an application! I will do a vet, reference, and home check! Also, here is a video of him taken on 1/27/12, about 3 weeks after his surgery, to show how wonderful he is doing!
