We just became acquainted with Angel Dogs Rescue, a hard-working, amazing rescue organization in Georgia. Their founder Susan Hayley shared the story of Bones, a badly neglected dog who had to undergo an amputation just a few days ago. Sorry for the graphic photo, these are all we have of this poor guy, for now anyways.

The group is looking for a very special home for this guy. If you or someone you know can help please pass along the link to this page and contact Angel Dog Rescue for more information. Thanks!

Here is some of his story:

Bones was spotted huddled in the woods on Jan 1st.  The good samaritan could not move him and called everyone she knew for 3 days before she found Lou to get him.  Lou, in tears when she saw the pitiful, awful shape he was in, bundled the poor dog in a  blanket, put him in her car and called Angel Dog Rescue.  Of course we agreed to admit him!  That's what we're about - saving the most desperately in need.  We asked Lou to take him immediately to the vet, and met them there.

We were afraid Bones would have to be euthanized due to only having one good leg left. The surgical specialist tells us Bones should do fine without his front leg.  He does have pelvic damage from two old breaks.  But he is expected to get around using his hind legs once he has gained weight and strength, and recovered from his long ordeal in the woods.

Contact Angel Dogs Rescue for more information and to help Bones find the good home he deserves.

KARMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Oy guys!  He's adorable, but my hands are full!  Breaks my heart though.  If I only had enough love, space, and time, I'd take in so many needy fur babies.

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Well Bones is in urgent need of a new foster family:

"Unfortunately my foster family does not have a fenced yard. I am still recuperating from my surgery and could get hurt by other dogs that come into the yard. I now need to move to another foster or better yet to a forever home with a fenced in yard. I am a 2 yr old male golden retriever lab mix. I am housebroken and would be fine with a female sister. I have not been tested with cats. Transport can be arranged. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bones contact Sandy at sanz658@att.net."

Look at how handsome he is in his new Webmaster!

I spoke with this rescue yesterday and can you believe this sweet pup is still available for adoption? He's all healed up and doing GREAT and just waiting for his furever home. I'm working on getting updated photos. Stay tuned.
