Obie loves to go on walks and is the first one at the door when the dog leashes come out. He is well-behaved while riding in the car and will sit, stay and shake on command. We think that Obie, a 66-pound Shepherd mix, is about 6 years old, though he often plays like a puppy.
He is content to be a quiet “couch potato” with his head on a lap or he can fetch tennis balls and “Kongs” for hours. Obie gets along fine with two dogs in his foster home and interacts well with a variety of dogs at the dog park. He wouldn’t do well around cats, though.
Obie may have been neglected by his previous family so his foster parents began obedience training. He’s doing great! Potential adopters should be willing to continue these classes; Good Samaritan will pay for an additional four weeks of training at Clearwater Dog Training. Obie is a special, sweet dog eager to please in a caring “forever” home.
