I already tried to email the association in Illinois but it wont go to the next line...field....have that problem alot with tablets....and there is no phone number!!!!
Okay, I'm thinking either Tracey...Super Dog Hunter...or Ellen..Charley...love in Illinois!
I MUST make contact immediately! This dog needs us and we need him!!!
RENE...DEAR SWEET RENE...DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WITHNTHIS ORGANIZATION OR A CONTACT IN ILL.?
I know if I even could do any applicatiin it just gets lost in the shuffle and almost always, by the time they get back to me...the dog is already adopted!!
And I have to goto work n ow.....grrrrrrrrrrrr
If ANYONE has access to this organization, please BEG them to give me a chance!!! And yes, am I already worried about a big do with three legs with a predisposition because of his breed and on and on and on? You betcha!!! But that's just what we do when we adopt a tripawd and that's what makes us extra good cautious pawtents!!!!!

Phone number is 815-514-3199. And it works, I tried to call and see if he is still available, and got their voicemail. So give them a call and leave a message!
Hopefully that helps Sally. That big cutie sure looks like he'd fit right in with you and Myrtle!!

Alright, so I just called again. He is still available, but they have several apps pending on him. They also don't adopt puppies or special needs dogs to people out of state....

Darn it. Why do they do that? He would have a great home with Sally & Merry Myrtle. Maybe we should call & bug them LOL

We could change their minds. They could have someone do a home check for them. There are rescues who would do that. I know we could do that. I am bad I know it

Maybe, just maybe, the fact that Sally has a history with a mastiff tripawd will help persuade them?! Plus, I live about an hour outside of Joliet. If there was anything I could do to help, I of course, would.
and if not..Sally, the perfect baby is out there for you somewhere! fingers x'd!
If you need someone to go all "Los Angeles" on them, let me know and I will happily call and vouch for Sally!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
I would call them. Don't leave a message, they will look at the area code and not call back. If you can talk to a live person you can tell them you have experience with a mastiff tripawd, and a vet with experience as well. Put your most persuasive self forward. With all the dogs that need homes, I have no idea why some of these rescues decide not to adopt out of state. I mean really - your state is the only one good enough?
Keep me posted. Many of the rescues have transport groups they already work with. If not, Martha's Mutt Movers out of Ohio is top notch. Kindred Hearts has coordinators all over the country and move lots of dogs as well. These groups offer free transport from rescues/shelters to fosters/homes. If that fails there are folks out there who will transport for a fee. Most are not outrageously expensive.
Good luck! And remember if this doesn't work out, there will be another that tugs your heart. You just have to believe.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

I'm with Alison, just say the word....we can blow their phone lines up and force them into submission. Anything for Sally!

Me too! I will call! I agree with trying to speak with a live person. Having Tripawd experience may just help them bend their rules a bit. If this doesn't work, I will keep in touch with where we got Daryl. We will find MM a playmate. Hugs from Lori and Ty
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. WHOAAAA! I reached a liver person....who was notplrased because it was sooooo late....OMD.....but you'd be proud team Tipawds.....ohhhh...and she pretty much said....."Dont mean to cut younoff (yeah, right), but where do you love?"...AND we already have a lot of applications in front of you.....thanks to Cassie, I was prelared for this wuestiion.....
I do love out of state and zi understand you do t adopt disabled dogs out of state....HOWEVER, I hope you would also consider that I was PRIVILEGED to live with a large dog BULL MASTIFF who only had three legs due to osteo......for fourteen months and am well aware of thr importance of caring for the remaining three legs...core stength building...supplements...proper nutrition.....monitoring their activities, etc.
And, I belong to tTHE TRIPAWDS NATION....YAAAAAAAAAY TRIPAWDS NATION....THE NUM B ER ONE SOURCE FOR INFORMATION ON TRILAWDS.....AND ....TRANSPORTATION IS ALREADY HANDLED.CO....AND HOME CHECKS WILL BE NO PROBLEMS..........AND GUNTHER WILL JAVE AN ELEVEN MONTH OLD FE.ALE BULL MASTIFF TO PLAY WITH.....somewhere in there I took a breath......
SHE SAID...........get ready...."well, quite frankly, we have rejected all the other apLicants because they have no experience with tripawds or big dogs!!!!! And maybe they would consider an out of s t ate application for s o meonemwith experience and good references"!!!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU MY FRIENDS.....I AT LEAST HAVE MY PAW IN THE DOOR!!! She said that with Christmas they lrobab l y wouldn't be doing anything now until after Christmas. She said to get the application in....and it wontw work with tablets....so I'll be needing some help with that my friends!!!!!!
Whew!!!! This exhausted me...but thanks to each of you I have a chance and stayed focused on the outcome and ,hopefully, overcame every objection!!!
She did say...and I think I heard her right....they would not do anything until they reviewed my application!!!!! A bumpy start with some tightly closed doors turned out very nice and with doors beginning to open!!!
Somewhere in there zi mentioned that we really don't consider mour tripawds disabled at all here on the site.
And thank you ALISON AND SHELBY.....I inadvertently missed your name...but I think I did go alittle "Los Angeles"....
